The 416 is an elite group of software developers (alright, some of them weren’t software developers, and some of them were fresh out of school) brought together by Pradipita’s mistaken use of CC. Who would have known what would come of such an innocent message:

I have a couple of Ruby on Rails position, wanted to know if you are interested?

But from that inauspicious beginning arose the 416! The 416 would go on to accomplish great things as it has been foreordained by the seers over the ages (or more likely eventually just fade away).

So because some random people ‘broke the rules’ and replied all to the list, it’s been an incredible little conversation that’s started. So, next time your get some random CC of a bunch of people, don’t delete it! Let serendipity rule and see what can happen…
